Salam Mesra and welcome to Masmera Abyssinians.

In Malay, MASMERA means golden red and that’s exactly what Abyssinians are – red gold.  When faced with a decision to name the cattery, there was actually no choice in the matter, the Abyssinian cat named itself:
Emas – which means gold, as precious and glorious as the cat, it also represents the loving temperament of the Abyssinian and
Merah - which means red, the glowing warmth of the red and ruddy Abyssinian coat, which combines perfectly with their feisty, active and independent nature.  The name in total represents the Abyssinian to the fullest.

The Abyssinian is quite uncommon in Asia and it is my honor and pleasure to promote this wonderful breed to its fullest!

Masmera is a cattery registered with The Cat Fanciers’ Association and I strive to achieve perfection as required in the breed standards as well as great temperament. Masmera cats are bred with love and care, with plenty of sunshine as only my beloved Malaysia has.

The Abyssinian breed is my one true love. However, I also have a decided interest in Long Hair cats as well! As such, a new page will be added soon into the Masmera web site titled “The Other Cats!” This page will show case the other cats in my home (I have a few neuters of other breeds and some domestics) as well as the cats I have acted as show agent for others at the various CFA licensed Cat Shows around Asia.
